Read two obstacles ahead, not one
This is general endless-runner experience rather than official advice, but it is the habit that moves the score fastest. Your eyes should sit well past the rider, on the stretch you have not reached yet. By the time an obstacle is level with you, the decision is already over.
One correction, then hold the line
A hard steer away from a rock usually trades it for the next one, because the rider keeps moving and the safe lane moves with it. Make one adjustment, then let the rider travel on that line instead of steering twice in a row.
Let the course come to you late in a run
The speed rises with distance, so the same choice that felt generous in the first twenty seconds becomes a coin flip later on. In the back half of a run, take the safe opening first and treat sea stars as a bonus rather than a target.
Use two-player mode to train
The second seat is not just a gimmick. Riding on a shared keyboard forces you to call the course out loud, and naming the gap you are heading for is a surprisingly fast way to break the habit of steering on the last possible frame.
Hazards, Sea Stars and the Score
The course is the whole game. As the run goes on, obstacles stop arriving one at a time and start leaving openings instead, and the official page groups them loosely as rocks, ramps and other hazards. The listings that go further do not agree on the full list, which is useful to know: zapgames.io names rocks, reeds, cliff faces, drops and pools and red gate posts; y8.com names rocks, fallen trunks and narrow passages; playgama.com names rocks and waterfalls. Score and currency are separate things. The number that matters is distance, which is what the leaderboards rank. Sea stars are the collectible: playgama.com identifies the in-game currency as sea stars and says they are spent on different surfboards, jet skis and cosmetic outfits. The same source mentions five-star clusters placed on some rocks, worth far more but requiring the jump to be timed against the rock rather than the star.
- Distance is the score; sea stars are the shop currency. Chasing one can easily cost you the other.
- Steering around a hazard is usually cheaper than jumping it, because a jump commits you to a landing point.

A daily participant count is a live number rather than a fixed feature, so treat it as a snapshot of the day it was read rather than as a permanent figure.
